    The Origins

    Giancarlo's parents, Stefano and Lina Bonamini, married and combined their skills: Lina's farming business merged with Stefano's artisan business, who bought an olive press from a cousin of his father. Thus was born the reality that would lead to Frantoio Bonamini.

  2. June 20, 1989

    The Arrival of Giancarlo Bonamini

    After graduating in agriculture, Giancarlo Bonamini joined his father in managing the oil mill and agricultural activities. He opened his own VAT number and began managing the production of extra virgin olive oil.

  3. 1993

    The First Bottle Signed Bonamini

    During an event in San Briccio (Lavagno), a cruet of olive oil with Frantoio Bonamini's business card is presented for the first time-a small gesture that marks the beginning of the brand.

  4. 1995

    Bonamini Oil Mill is born

    Without contact with suppliers or customers, Giancarlo Bonamini began bottling extra virgin olive oil under the brand name Frantoio Bonamini. The first 900 0.75 L bottles are distributed as samples to raise awareness of the quality of Bonamini oil, and step by step the company begins to grow.

  5. 1999

    1999 - The Crusher Expands

    An abundant olive harvest, increased production of extra virgin olive oil, and limited mill space put a strain on business growth. Expansion is needed.

  6. 2000

    The New Headquarters

    Giancarlo Bonamini focuses on innovation and quality, in this way, overcoming the traditional "it has always been done this way," the new Frantoio Bonamini headquarters equipped with a modern continuous plant was born.

  7. 2001

    Certified Quality EVO Oil

    Frantoio Bonamini enthusiastically welcomes the approval of the D.O.P. Veneto Valpolicella. In the same year, Giancarlo and Sabrina marry, starting a partnership that will lead the mill to new successes. 2001 is also the year of the first oil campaign conducted with the modern oil mill.

    Sustainability and Innovation

    The focus on sustainability is strengthened by reducing the impact of production, limiting waste and enhancing every part of the fruit: from the kernel, to the pulp, to the skins. This allows Bonamini to produce a high-quality Italian extra virgin olive oil with full respect for the environment.

    Crusher 4.0

    Frantoio Bonamini is still evolving, adopting Industry 4.0 technologies for advanced monitoring of every stage of extra virgin olive oil production.

    Continuing Innovation

    Installation of a new olive washing and drying system and a thermo-conditioned knife crusher: state-of-the-art technologies that guarantee the extraction of an extra virgin olive oil with excellent characteristics.

    Quality Without Compromise

    New vertical crushers to reduce contact between olive paste and air further improve the quality of the final product. Another step forward for Frantoio Bonamini, a leading producer of high-quality extra virgin olive oil.

A love story for olive oil

Frantoio Bonamini is the epitome of excellence in Italian extra virgin olive oil that combines product quality with a passion for the local territory and traditions. Giancarlo and Sabrina Sartorari Bonamini, courageous millers, passionately guide this mill that has almost 60 years of history, enhancing the more than 5,200 olive trees spread over 24 hectares for an annual production of about 270,000 bottles of evo oil, appreciated both in Italy and abroad.

Our production

Production includes extra virgin olive oil D.O.P. Veneto Valpolicella, made from the prized Grignano and Favarol cultivar olives, Organic oil and specialties such as Monocultivar Grignano and Campo di Casa. In addition to extra virgin olive oil, Frantoio Bonamini offers natural flavored oils, sauces, pickles and a sustainable cosmetic line. The products are all designed and made in the Illasi Valley (Verona), one of Italy's most renowned oil districts.

A legacy that stems from family

The Bonamini oil mill was born from a story of courage and dedication that has its roots in 1965, when Stefano and Lina settled in their current home in Santa Giustina in Illasi. Stefano Bonamini, until then a thresher, began acultivating his wife's vineyards and with her help also took over an uncle Bonamini's olive mill, boldly tackling a completely new activity for him. Sixty years ago, the first founders started this enterprise almost from scratch, driven by passion and a very clear vision: to produce a high-quality extra virgin olive oil. Respecting and deeply loving the land. Since then, every drop of Bonamini oil tells of a tradition of taste that has never lost sight of excellence.
